William C.
Wagner
Jan 10, 1963 — Mar 15, 2024
William C. Wagner, age 61, was born on January 10, 1963, in Rochester, Indiana, and passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving children, son Ian Wagner and daughter Audrey Wagner. William co-parented with Kate Stanton (Wagner) and valued their special relationship. William was a successful financial executive for Tenneco Powertrain in South Bend.
William was the third oldest sibling: Bob (Kate) Wagner, Patricia Wagner, Kevin (Karen) Wagner, Jennifer (Daniel) Orlos, and Erika Wagner. William had many wonderful nieces and nephews. William is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret (Gilmarten) Wagner.
William loved life but treasured his two children more than anything. He often referred to Ian as "The Lion Man." As for Audrey, she had him wrapped around his finger, and he did anything and everything for her.
William never wanted to be the center of attention. His joy was seeing others successes, especially with Ian and Audrey. William knew how to light up any room quietly with entertainment and happiness. Everyone who met William instantly liked him- always a crowd favorite. He had a quiet, sincere charm and could read and connect with people's feelings. William was quick to lend a hand to the underdog. William adored the Chicago Cubs through thick and thin. He was known to say, "Cubbies have landed" when arriving home. He would want us to continue treating others with empathy and compassion while we mourn his loss.
