Obituary

Mr. William Shambarger, 81, of Macy, passed away at 2:07 PM, Friday, December 9th , at Memorial Hospital of South Bend

On December 7 , 1935, William Henry  was born in Miami County.  He was the treasured son of James C. and Dorothea L. Goodwin Shambarger. Growing up he shared his childhood with a brother Loren and a sister Norma Jean.  He graduated from Macy high School in 1954.

In Logansport, on October 30 , 1971 Bill  married Janet Arlene Good.    He was an accomplished automotive mechanic and was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Peru.

Bill was an avid collector of unique toy tractors.  A man who of simple pleasures, he enjoyed mowing his lawn.  Grilling for family and friends was a way to relax.  Grandpa Bill was very proud of his legacy, overseeing four generations.  He treasured the time spent with family.  Always near his side was Lars his devoted brindle Boxer.

Left to cherish Bill's memory are  his wife Janet; a daughter, Bernadette "Bernie" Crawn and husband Ryan of Macy; a son, Billy Joe Shambarger and wife Mandy of Wabash;  daughter Tewanna Jo Cox Smith of Rochester;  a brother, Loren K. "Bud" Shambarger of Rochester; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Sylvester, a son Jimmy Shambarger, and a sister Norma Jean Clark.

A time to celebrate the life of Mr. William H. Shambarger will be Thursday December 15th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester.  Burial will take place at a later date.
