Obituary

Mr. William Ray Ault, 83, Rochester, passed away at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Life Care Center of Rochester. He was born in Culver on Aug. 1, 1928, to William Howard and Verda Miller Ault. Ray graduated from Culver High School in 1946. On Nov. 19, 1950, Ray and Mona P. Fechner were married in Culver. A lifelong farmer, he also drove a truck for Galbreath Inc. and Heyde Oil and worked at Indiana Metal. Music was an important part of his life. He played the trumpet in his high school band and in the South Bend Junior Symphony. Later, Ray sang gospel music in the Grandview Quartet. In his spare time, he spent hours reading and working on crossword puzzles. Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mona, at home; three daughters, Debbie Galbreath and husband Steve of Plymouth, Cynthia Loper of Rochester, Barbara Guerin and husband Bill of Winamac; and a son, Bill Ault of Warsaw; seven grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Kline and husband Dwight of Monterey. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Arla Moran; and a son-in-law, Bill Loper. Dr. Mark Spencer will officiate services. Interment will be in the Culver Masonic Cemetery.
