Wayne Draper, 89, of Rochester, passed away at 12:48 PM on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Life Care Center of Rochester.

On September 2, 1933, Robert Wayne was born in Delphi to Leo J. and Felecia Coppock Draper.  He was one of six children growing up with two sisters and three brothers.  Answering the call of patriotism, Robert served with the US Army in Germany during WWII.

Wayne was a farmer, planting and harvesting corn and soybeans. He also worked at Sealed Power and Midwest Spring.  In his free time, he liked to work in his shop.  He was a member of the Rochester IOOF Lodge.

Wayne and Betty J. Lanie were married on December 22, 1956 in the St. Joe Catholic Church of Delphi. They shared 56 years of life's adventures. Sadly, she passed away on January 21, 2015.

Left to cherish the memories of Wayne are three daughters: Jill Draper, of Rochester, Kathy Vanderwall and husband Todd of Rochester, Cheryl Lawson, of Union, MO; four grandchildren: Amanda and Austin Lawson, Kara and Tye Vanderwall; ten great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and sister Jolinda Kerr and husband Howard of Akron.

Preceding Wayne in death are his parents; wife; son-in-law John Lawson on January 31, 2013; a sister, Beth Ordaway; and three Draper brothers: Kenny, Don and Dean.

A celebration of the life of Robert Wayne Draper will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18 ^th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family from 10-12 on Saturday in the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Richland Center Cemetery.

Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Army Honors Team.
