Former Rochester resident, Victor Lee Coplen, 33, of Roanoke, passed away unexpectedly

, 2018 at his home.
On September 22 , 1985, Victor was born in Logansport to Timothy Oliver Coplen and Debra Kay Collins Fernandez. Growing up as one of four, he shared his childhood with two sisters Sandra, Martina and a brother Chico. Victor was a member of the Rochester High School class of 2003.
Gifted with an arsenal of culinary skills Victor was best known for the many Italian dishes he created. Alfredo was one of his specialties. He also was a master of the smoker. Family and friends enjoyed his wings, ribs, pork butts. Victor's recipes contained secret ingredients including ghost pepper. Victor also enjoyed mushroom hunting each spring.
Victor was a political buff who was a member of the conservative movement. He was a a huge supporter of MAGA and our President Donald Trump. Paramount in his life was his family. He enjoyed the visits of his seven nephews and grilling out or creating an Italian dish for the holidays or special family celebration. He was always there for them with his amazing sense of humor.
Left to cherish Victor's memory are his parents, Debbie and Hector Fernandez and Tim Coplen, all of Rocheste;r companion Jennifer Lovely of Roanoke; two sisters: Sandra Cheesman and husband Kyle, Martina Fernandez and companion Hermon Beliles; a brother, Chico Fernandez, all of Rochester; seven nieces and nephews: Deacon, Kalvin and Miles Cheesman, Bryson, Dominic and Hayden Fernandez and Edward Beliles.
Preceding Victor in death are Grandma Dee Evans, Grandpa Jim Coplen and Grandma Mary Coplen.
A celebration of the life of Victor Lee Coplen will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 14 , 2018 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18 th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family from 12-2 in the funeral home. Pastors Terry Baldwin and Michael Cloud will officiate. Memorials may be made to the family.
