Tonya Rose Swanson, 42, of Tuscon, AZ, passed away on April 28, 2012 in the Tuscon Medical Center, following a 2 year illness. She was born on November 17, 1969 in LaPorte, IN to Charles and Margaret "Rose" Hayter Swanson. Prior to moving to Tucson, Tonya lived in Carmel, IN. She loved children, and taught at a pre school. As a Nanny she cared for many little kids and older folks for nearly 10 years. Tonya thought she was a very lucky girl to have had six living grandparents at one time. She was preceded in death by five of them and is survived by Grandma Keene. Tonya will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Rose Swanson of Tucson, AZ, her father and step mother, Charles and Rose Swanson of Rochester, grandmother, Beverly Keene of Rochester, 4 step sisters and 3 step brothers. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A celebration of the life of Tonya Rose Swanson will be on Sunday, May 20, 2012 in the Antioch Baptist Church, 608 E. 14th St., Rochester, with Pastor Jerry Pitman officiating. The service will start immediately following the morning worship service.
