Tony R. Bartlett, 72, of Churubusco went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

On August 7, 1953, Tony Ray Bartlett was born in Wabash, Indiana. Glen Harold Bartlett was his father. Tony graduated with the Class of 1971 from North Miami High School. Continuing his formal education, he went to Indiana University and later Ft. Wayne Bible College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry.

On January 2, 1977, Tony married the love of his life, Cindy Trigg at the Macy Methodist Church. They shared 49 beautiful years together. From their union came two wonderful children, a son Jacob and a daughter Antonia. They were blessed with four grandchildren to add to the family tree, Astella Simons and husband Trevor Simons, Hawk Fisher, Ty Bartlett, and Falon Fisher.

Tony was an accomplished horseman who won and placed in many competitions. He enjoyed pole bending and barrel racing on his appendix quarter horse, Tucker. His beloved horse, Bay, was his special horse he used for trapping. Tony’s ability to see horses differently than most people, made him a unique trainer, who many entrusted with their horses. Tony was a past member of the Northeastern Indiana Beekeeper Association. He loved working with his bees, and did not like to charge. Instead, he preferred to share his honey with others. With a strong work ethic, Tony was a contractor and worked in residential construction.

Being on the green with the Senior League at Eel River Golf Club was always enjoyed, but he especially loved to play golf with his brother-in-law, Jaime Trigg.

Tony and Cindy enjoyed riding their E-bikes along different trails. They relished their picnics and taking in God’s creation. It was quite rare that their kitchen table did not have flowers on it from Tony.

As a story teller, Tony had a very unique and extraordinary method of delivery. He kept things interesting with his wit and humor, keeping his audience on the edge of their seats. He often shared his belief in Creator through his words of wisdom. He was truly a remarkable person who deeply loved his wife and family. Tony loved working with his son, and drinking early morning coffee with his daughter. Paw-Paw cherished his grandchildren. He loved visiting Astella and Trevor with their animals, sharing witticisms with Hawk, working with Ty, and playing Boggle with Falon. He was known as brave and courageous, jumping in to save the day no matter the cost. He always rooted for the underdog.

Left to cherish Tony's memory are his wife Cindy; son, Jacob E. R. Bartlett and wife Andrea of Churubusco; daughter, Antonia Spring Fisher and husband Wade of Macy; Sharon Bartlett of Peru; four grandchildren: Ty Bartlett, Astella Simons, husband Trevor Simons, Hawk Fisher, Falon Fisher; his dear cat Crystal and Bronson their German Shepherd; and many friends.

Preceding Tony in death are his father, his brother Tommy Bartlett, and his beloved dogs, Sacha and Cozy.

A private family service will be held. Pastor Brad Hisey will officiate. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery of Macy. Memorials may be made to the Macy Christian Church Youth, 190 E. Commerce St., Macy, IN 46951. A memorial will be held at Tony and Cindy’s farm on Saturday, June 13th at 1:00 p.m. For those planning on attending, bring a lawn chair.
