Toni L.
Smith
Jan 2, 1957 — Apr 30, 2025
Toni L. Smith, 68, of Rochester was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away on the late afternoon of April 30, 2025, in the Lutheran Hospital of Ft. Wayne.
On January 2, 1957, Toni Leslie Smith was born in Mishawaka. She was a treasured daughter of Billy G. and Kathleen Shoemaker Smith. Growing up she shared her childhood with two sisters, Venessa and Danni, and two brothers, Kraig and Kurt. Most of her childhood was spent near Akron. Toni was a proud member of the Akron High School class of 1975.
An avid crafter, Toni made all types of bead jewelry. She also created custom home accents using beads to enhance the special piece completing the home decor. Each spring she planted flowers around the landscape of her home to add bright splashes of color. Always at her side while relaxing was her Boston Terrier Zippy.
Toni was most proud of her legacy: her five children, eight grandchildren and now five great-grandchildren. She looked forward to spending time during the holidays and special family celebrations making memories. Grandma Toni was aways there for her family and friends.
Left to cherish Toni's memory are her children: Sara Smith of Forest Dale, Vermont; Jeremy Smith, Katie J. Smith both of Akron; mother Kate Racer of Rochester; 8 grandchildren: Kaleb Patton, Katlyn Martin, Keegan Wilbert, Kaiden Smith, Kerrigan Smith, Taylor Smith, Karis King, Lincoln Smith; 5 great-grandchildren: Jordan Peconga, Madelyn Patton, Jailah Patton, Marcee Martin, Coraline Martin; her siblings Venessa Hall (Larry) of Bourbon, Danni Smith of Roann, Kraig Smith of Rochester; and her canine companion Zippy.
A celebration of the life of Toni L. Smith will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester. Her family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service.
