Mr. Tommy Rowe, 77, of Rochester, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 9:35 PM, Wednesday, July 4th, 2012 at Life Care Center of Rochester. He was born in Elkhorn City, Kentucky on May 2, 1935, the son of Ray and Bertha Wallace Rowe. Growing up he shared his childhood with two sisters and five brothers. It was during these years that Tommy developed a stealth work ethic, a passion he maintained his entire life. On January 2, 1959, Tommy and Norma Ratliff were married in Clintwood, VA. Their union spanned more than a half century and produced three beautiful daughters Sheila, Tomel, and Patricia, and a handsome son Roger. The family tree flourished with the added blessing of 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. In addition to his love and appreciation for work, Tommy took time to visit with friends in the hopital and nursing homes to read scripture, share God's words and pray with them. Tommy will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Norma, and 3 daughters: Sheila Rowe & husband Ira Milam of Rochester, Tomel Gentry & husband Darrell Burden of Rochester, Patricia Figueroa & husband Agustin of Toledo, OH; 1 son, Roger Rowe & wife Tamara of Tomah, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Brenda Rowe of Virginia, Mary Kay Bolden of Michigan; 4 brothers: Randall Rowe Jr. of KY, Ernie Rowe of Arkansas, Billy Rowe of North Carolina, Paul Ed Rowe of Michigan, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Johnny Rowe. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
