Tom W. Miller, 62, 1844 E. 300 S., Rochester, died Wednesday due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Tom was born on October 5, 1949, in Plymouth, to Clem H. and Jean (Neidlinger) Miller. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1968. He went on to earn a degree in agronomy from Purdue University in 1972. After college, he returned to Rochester to become a partner in the family farm where he grew up. Tom remained an active farmer until 2011 when his career was sidelined due to illness. Tom attended First Baptist Church, Rochester. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family and was an avid fisherman and Purdue fan. Tom also spent many evenings in area gyms watching Zebra basketball. He loved his nieces and nephews and took great pride in their accomplishments, videotaping everything from kindergarten music programs and RHS golf matches to 4-H beef shows. The warmth of spring beckoned Tom to the woods where he searched for sponge morel delicacies. Tom is lovingly remembered by his mother, Jean Miller; sister, Eileen Fellers; and brother Charlie (Katie) Miller; two nieces: Lori Fellers and Sarah Miller, all of Rochester; four nephews: Brad (Kimi) Fellers, Carmel, Cory Fellers, and his companion Sophia, Beaverton, Oregon, Joe (Brianne) Miller, Greg Miller and fiancé Katie Holmes, Rochester; great-nieces and nephew Courtney Fellers, and Vivian and Grayson Miller; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his two devoted canine companions: Shep, the Australian Shepherd blend, and Max, his Labradoodle. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Clem H. Miller, Jr. April 17, 2008, and brother-in-law Stephen L. Fellers, April 8, 2000.
