Obituary

Mrs. Suzan K. Fincher, 69, of Macy passed away at 12:40 PM, Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Millers Merry Manor of Logansport. On September 4, 1945, Suzan was born in Ogden, Utah, a cherished daughter of Ted and Letha Mae Newcomer Merley. Growing up she shared her childhood with two sisters, Cheryl and Karen. With great Warrior pride she graduated with her class in 1963 from North Miami High School. Suzan and Lowell G. Fincher were married on July 13, 1963 in Macy. Together they enjoyed over 51 years of life's adventures. From their union came three wonderful children: Jody, Tracy and Andrew. Over the years the family tree continued with the added blessings of nine grandchildren. With a true heart of giving and compassion, Suzan graduated with her class in 1984 from the Kokomo School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a geriatric nursing specialist practicing at several long term care facilities in Miami, Fulton and Cass Counties. Suzan retired one year ago. A loyal and devoted member of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Peru, Suzan was also a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary. Left to cherish Suzan's memory are her husband Lowell; two daughters: Jody Taylor and husband Sam of Logansport, and Tracy Knappen and husband Ed of Macy; a son, Andrew Fincher and wife Jodi of Akron; nine grandchildren: Courtney Hruby and husband Zachery, Ashley Taylor, Seth Fincher, Jesse Knappen, Bethany Brock and husband Tyler, Megan Knappen, Josie Knappen, Becca Knappen, Chrissy Knappen; a sister Cheryl Merley of Akron; two sister-in-laws: Marilyn Storey and husband Dave, and Lois Baich; a brother-in-law: Joe Fincher and wife Patsy. Preceding Suzan in death are her parents and a sister Karen Wilson. A celebration of the life of Suzan Fincher will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in the Calvery Temple Assembly of God, 2908 W. 200 N., Peru with Pastor Kevin Palmer officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 3-8 PM on Friday and one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be in the Plainview Cemetery of Macy. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International.
