Steven
Crispen
Mar 30, 1960 — Oct 22, 2018
Mr. Steven D. Crispen, 58, of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 22 , 2018 at his residence following a brief illness.
On March 30 , 1960, Steven was born in Rochester to Frederick Dean and Ramona Mae Phillips Crispen. Growing up he shared his childhood with two sisters and two brothers. As a fiery Comet, during his high school track career he was known for his fleet feet. Steve ran the mile in four minutes and twenty seconds. In 1979, he graduated from Caston High School.
Steve and Donna Jane Rock were married on September 22 , 2006 in Rochester by Mayor Phil Thompson. Sadly, she passed away on November 23 , 2008 due to injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.
A true American sportsman, Steve loved being outdoors. He looked forward to hunting season and bagging the big one. He was an expert fisherman, fishing many lakes and ponds around Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Ohio. His family and fishing friends remember his angler's wisdom on a slow fishing day, "the water is too wet for the fish to bite."
As an amazing auto mechanic Steve was gifted working with his hands. With a huge heart, he would help anyone in need whether they were broken down along the road or a bit short of cash. He loved making everyone happy. As a Grandpa, Steve looked forward to visits and spending time with his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed family celebrations.
Left to cherish Steve's memories are two daughters: Amanda M. Barnes and companion Wes Cobe of Denver, Katherine R. Schlosser and companion William Allen of Rochester; a son, Matthew Hart and wife Autumn of Rochester; step-son Mitch Thornton of Macy ; 12 grandchildren: Antonio, Taylor, Jacob, Haley, Brooke, Curtis, Katlynn, Bo, Shane , Mason, Allaynna, Audrey; two sisters: Louise Kaiser and Judy Jones both of Macy; two brothers: Rodney Crispen of Akron, Michael Crispen of Macy; several nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Lady.
Preceding Steve in death are his parents Fred and Ramona Crispen, beloved wife Donna, and paternal grandparents, Francis and Bernice Crispen.
Chaplain Jason See will officiate services. Military Honors will be conducted by the Fulton County Veteran's Honor Guard and the US Army Honors Team. Interment will be in the Richland Center IOOF Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Steven J. Crispen Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank.
