Milton "Sock" Kistler, age 76, of Mount Hermon, KY died Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Monroe County Health and Rehab Center in Tompkinsville, KY. The Richland Center, IN native was born December 12, 1936, one of five children born to the late Wayne Coleman "Toad" Kistler and to the late Margaret Foster Kistler. Preceding him also in death was one sister, Martha Mantose. He married Dorcia Hood on August 23, 1962 in Columbia, Kentucky, who survives. "Sock" is also survived by one daughter, Lori Beth Kistler of Mount Hermon, two brothers, Mark Weldon Kistler of Twelve Mile, IN and Maurice Kip Kistler of Indianapolis, IN and one sister, Marcia Sue Bick of Rochester, In. "Sock" graduated from Richland Center High School and from Western New Mexico University in Silver City, NM, playing basketball in both, high school and college. In1963. he started teaching at Richland Center and moved to Kentucky in 1968. He taught at Hiseville, and Austin Tracey Elementary Schools, retiring with 27 years with the Barren County School System. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Visitation begins Sunday, December 1 after 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Donations are suggested to Mud Lick Fire Department.
