At 3:13 pm on Sunday, August 30th... Sid Jo began her final journey. At 4:46 she RAN to and fell into her Heavenly Father's open arms! Sidneigh Jo Carr was born August 26, 1989 at IU Medical Center, Indianapolis. It was with great anticipation, Sidneigh Jo and her twin sister Chaneigh Mae were born to Greg & Teri, with big sister Ryleigh Larryn waiting for them both! Recently, Sid welcomed sister-in-law, Deanna Michelle. Known for her contagious smile and sparkling eyes, Sid was considered by many as a pioneer, blazing trails for others to follow. Sid experienced many firsts; Most recently, the first to hold her nephew, Jaxon Mezzo who is scheduled to arrive on earth in November. From the beginning, her family was determined to expose Sid to many of life's pleasures. While mostly modified in some form or fashion, one could still count Sid's accomplishments as many. She graduated Argos High School in 2012. As a toddler she learned to ride and showed horses with her family, primarily following the North Central Indiana Youth Mini Circuit. It was there, she was selected by her peers and honored with the prestigious Sportsmanship Buckle in 1997. Against many odds, Sid completed a full, 10 year career in 4-H, showing horses and hogs. The girls would spend hours walking their pigs so they would become accustom to Sid's wheelchair. One year, her gilt Big Bertha never left her side while in the arena! She was instrumental in helping to establish the "Assisted Riders" class at the Indiana State Fair. Due to her inspiring ways, family and friends began a therapeutic riding center in Plymouth. Early on as a youngster, Sid was on the same team as her sisters in T-Ball. Later, she became recognized as their Number #1 fan, as she rarely missed their sporting events. As Ryleigh and Chaneigh were attending many camps, it was during this time Sid showed her annoyance and aggravation that she couldn't go too! Hence, among her most notable accomplishments; CAMP-WE-CAN! Thanks to the ingenuity of Jodie and Tina, the first camp saw 8 campers and 13 years later nearly 100 campers enjoyed a special day being kings and queens! While born out of necessity, CWC and her legacy will continue to serve individuals with special needs for years to come. More recently, Sid participated in bowling with the Fulton County Special Olympics. As an accomplished bowler, she would draw her arm to her and cause the string to pull away from the ball, sending it down the ramp and down the lane; most of the time knocking down numerous pins! She was known as the "girl with the fan club" as she always had folks cheering her on regardless of the activity! While always facing challenges, Sid's "can do" attitude allowed her to achieve one of her most rewarding challenges; moving into her own apartment! The last three years she enjoyed having an extension of herself, with her special friends who assisted her with living each day to the fullest! Among her expansive list of friends, she is also survived by her parents, Greg & Teri Carr of Rochester. Sisters, Chaneigh Mae Carr, Plymouth and SGT Ryleigh Larryn Carr and wife, Deanna Michelle Carr, Fort Campbell, Ky. Grandparents: Phil & Kelsa Carr, Rochester. Pat & Jan Walters, Bourbon. Aunts, uncles and cousins: Jodie Simpson, Ron & Greta Lynch (Aaron, Jared & Lindsey, their son Aiden), Craig & Lori Simpson (Geoel & Samantha, their daughters Kathie & Isabella, Garth & Alyssa and their daughter Harper). Specially appointed Aunt Barb & Uncle Jer. Nearly sisters, Tina Haworth, Taylor Daugherty & Robin Huffman. Many great aunts, uncles, second cousins, extended family and those who were like family rounded out her expansive realm of supporters! Sid was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Larry D. Simpson, also answering to Gramps. Sid's visitation is Friday, 3-8 pm and one hour prior to her funeral service, Saturday at 10 AM in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester. Pastor Teri White will officiate. Burial will follow in Rochester's IOOF Cemetery.
