Mrs. Shirley J. Wentzel, 80, of Rochester, passed away at 9:10 AM
Friday, October 26
, 2018 with her devoted son David at her bedside.

Shirley J. Sheets was born in Logansport.
She was the treasured daughter of
Chester and Treva Myers
Sheets. Shirley
attended
Logansport schools graduating as a proud Berry in 1956
. She continued her education, later graduating from Ft. Wayne Beauty College with a degree in cosmetology
.
In Logansport, on
March 16
, 1957, Shirley and Norman D. Wentzel were married. They enjoyed over 49 years of life's adventures. From their union came three wonderful children: Jeff, Jodi & David.
The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of three grandchildren
.
A talented hairstylist, Shirley worked from the shop in her home known as
. "Salon
Mon
Ami," for two decades, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the
Fulton
County Hairdressers Association and Grace United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish Shirley's memory are a son, David Wentzel of Rochester; three grandchildren: Dr.
Mandi L. Copley and husband Ryan of Bartlett. IL
, Dustin Wentzel of Warsaw
, John Wentzel of
Rochester;
a life long friend Judy Smith of Logansport; and Baby, her treasured feline companion, the gray Bengal.
Preceding Shirley in death are her parents Chester and Treva Sheets; beloved husband Norm on

, 2006; daughter Jodi Thompson on
December 11
, 2015; and son Jeff Wentzel on
May 26
, 2007.
A celebration of the life of Shirley Wentzel will be at 2:00 PM
on Tuesday,
October 30th
in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18
th
St., Rochester.
Chaplain Todd Wilson
will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Rochester IOOF cemetery.
