Shawn K.
Walker
Nov 26, 1972 — Jan 26, 2024
Shawn K. Walker, 52, of Rochester passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 26, 2024, at his home following a short illness.
On November 26, 1972, Shawn was born in Indianapolis to Keith and Cindy Icenberg Walker. He was the oldest of four children, he shared his childhood with two brothers Rusty and Wayne and later a little a sister Trisha arrived.
On April 20, 2020, Shawn married the love of his life Miss Misti "Mistimae" Perez at 4:20 PM at The Cross Church by Pastor Mike Cloud. Together they enjoyed many adventures in life.
With a strong work ethic, Shawn worked for Gulth Brothers Roofing of Hammond. As a union roofer, he was a member of Local # 26 of Merrillville.
October of 2021 brought on the annual Chili Cook-Off. Shawn was a member of the team Chain Breakers the Chili Makers. Their team was composed of members of the Tuesday evening Celebrate Recovery at the Lutheran Church. Their chili was smokin' amazing!!! The team won Best Chili and Best Decorated Booth!
A devoted member of The Cross Church, Shawn was a spiritual Team Leader for Men's Celebrate Recovery on both Monday and Tuesday evenings. With a servant's heart he was there to help other men struggling with addictions. Shawn's strong faith, determination and focus has allowed him to remain sober since 2019. He enjoyed a healthy lifestyle and living a wonderful life with his true love Mistimae.
There was nothing better than taking a bike ride on his 2011 black Super Glide Harley-Davidson during the summer with Mistimae on the back. Sioux Falls was a favorite destination, but they loved taking day trips around the Midwest too. An avid outdoorsman, Shawn loved taking Mistimae camping. They made many memories under the starlit summer sky while telling stories by the campfire at the Broken Arrow Campgrounds in Winamac. They also enjoyed floating the Tippecanoe on hot summer days. He answered to the nickname of SK Dub or Dub Duce when Mistimae beckoned him. Hopelessly romantic Shawn would write the love of his life sweet notes every day! ❤️
