Mr. Seth Allen Mathias, 21, of Rochester, passed away at 10:04 AM, Saturday, June 23rd, 2012. He was born in Logansport, IN on October 17, 1990, to Buck and Tammy Knight Mathias. Seth was a member of the class of 2010 graduating from of Tippecanoe Valley High School. An avid outdoorsman, Seth enjoyed hunting deer, rabbits and other game that was found on the family farm as a natural habitat. An active member of the Conservation Club, Seth shot skeet with great accuracy. Living on the shores of the Tippecanoe River, he fished for catfish and bluegill. For a break in the fishing action he visited the pond of Woodlawn Hospital. The river also provided Seth and his buddies with many memorable float trips, enjoying nature, the fresh air and great times with friends. Camping out under the starlit summer nights was also an activity Seth embraced. His favorite locale was France Park near Logansport. Working with his hands was his forte', Seth could tear down almost anything, repair it, then reassemble it with perfection. Seth is survived by his two daughters, Mary-Alice and Kearah MacKenzie Mathias; his mother, Tammy Mathias; his father, Buck Mathias and companion Tammy Stephens; a sister, Stacie Goodwin of Boyd, TX; two brothers, Coty Vanderwall and wife Claire of Rochester, and Dale of Oklahoma; grandparents Jim and Sis Mathias of Rochester; Aunts and Uncles: Pam Arnett, Jerry and Cassie Knight, Jim and Karrie Mathias, Manford Mathias, Phillip "Peanut" Mathias, and Rosie and RonDoyle: cousins: Britani Zimmerman, Brandon Zimmerman, and Mickey Knight; and his loving dog, Baily, a black and white Pit Bull. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry and Barbara Knight. Pastor John Branch will officiate services. He will be laid to rest in the Citizens Cemetery of Rochester.
