Obituary

Scott R. Young, 70, of Rochester, passed away at 6:40 PM on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Life Care Center of Rochester.

On November 2, 1951, Scott Reed Young was born in South Bend to Warren E. and Anna Reed Young. He graduated from Adams High School with the class of 1970. Growing up he shared his childhood with two brothers.

Scott and Janet Kay Beck were married on September 20, 2002 in Las Vegas. They have shared 19 years of life's adventures.  They enjoyed going to Vegas twice a year and never found a casino they didn't like.

After 37 years, Scott retired from Krogers.  He was a true cut up, preparing your favorite cut of pork, that T-Bone or fresh ground beef.   Hunting deer and casting a line at his favorite watering holes was a great way to relax. As an avid sports fan, he followed the Bears and Indiana University.

His local memberships include The Veterans of Foreign Wars #1343, The Fraternal Order of Eagles #852, and the LeRoy Shelton American Legion #36. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.

Left to cherish the memories of Scott are his wife Kay; daughter, Bethany Hatfield of Warsaw; three sons:  Isreal Young and wife Laura of Comstock, MI, Andy Young and wife Erin of Denver, CO, Jason Young of Minneapolis, MN; three step children:  Kim Webb and husband Brian, Eric Lewis, Tim Smith all of Rochester; 14 grandchildren: Wyatt, Breanna, Lynsie, Makenzie, Maddy, Ian, Cole, Reed, Leilah, Ahlianna, Bryanna, Dale (Liz), Shelby, Elise; brother Terry Young and wife Becky of Granger; several nieces and nephews; and three canine companions:  Buddy the Beagle, Stubby the brown special blend Lab and Newfoundland, and Pee-Wee, the sorrel Dachshund.
