Obituary

Ruth Irene (Cook) Sedan, 95, died peacefully in her sleep September 21, 2011 at the Elms Nursing Home in Milton, NH. Mrs. Sedan was born in Farmer City, IL on October 11, 1915. She was the daughter of Rosemond Elmer and Zula Saylor Landis Cook. She received her Teaching Certificate from Michigan County Normal School prior to teaching in a one room school house. She received her BS and teaching degree from State University in Michigan and taught elementary education in the Clawson and Warren School Systems until her retirement in 1977. Ruth was a skilled seamstress and quilter. She also enjoyed painting and many other different crafts. She resided in Rochester, IN, Royal Oak, MI, Archbold, OH, Deland, FL and Nashua, NH. Survivors include a daughter, Dixie Lee (Sedan) Mitchell and her husband Kenneth of Deland, FL, a son, Mickey James Sedan Hinderer of St. Paul, MN and a daughter-in-law, Linda Hinderer Bertsch of Nashua, NH, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the widow of James S. Sedan. She was predeceased by a son, Paul Edward Hinderer, two brothers, Willard Landis Cook, Dale Glendon Cook and a sister Marguerite Sperry.
