Obituary

Mrs. Ruth Isabell Fisher, 95, of Rochester passed away at 4:03 AM on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Wynnfield Crossing where she had made her home since 2005. On September 27, 1919, Ruth was born in Fulton County, a cherished daughter of Vincen E. and Anna Fern Kline Teeter. Growing up she shared her childhood with a sister Dorothy and two brothers, Ray and Robert. After high school Ruth graduated from cosmetology school in Chicago. Ruth and Loy H. Fisher were married on April 30, 1939. Together they enjoyed over 57 years of life's adventures. They made their home in southwest Michigan where they enjoyed fruit farming. Loy and Ruth annually introduced new plants and trees to their over 200 acre fruit farm. With great pride they manicured the plants, sprayed, oversaw pollination and the bountiful autumn harvest of the juicy apples and peaches and succulent blueberries and strawberries. Aunt Ruth and Uncle Loy are remembered for sharing the fruits of their labor with family and special friends. Always opening their home to family for extended visits, our revered Aunt Ruth was an extraordinary hostess, terrific cook preparing feasts fit for a king, she dearly loved to entertain. She is remembered for her graciousness and a great sense of humor. Uncle Loy and Aunt Ruth were also adept at square dancing, floating around the floor with precision moves to the calls. To relax they wintered in Florida for a number of years from October to March garnering many new friends. Numerous nieces and nephews are left to cherish memories of Aunt Ruth including, Walter and Donna Koebcke of Kewanna. Preceding Ruth in death are her parents, husband, a sister Dorothy Shearer, two brothers: Robert V. Teeter and Ray Alderfer. Pastor Teri White will officiate services. Interment will be in the North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma, MI.
