Obituary

Rodney Allen Reichard, 46, of Akron, was surrounded by his loving family when he  passed away at 1:55 PM, Monday, August 1 , 2016 at his parents' home.

On September 2 , 1969, Rodney was born in Plymouth.  He was a treasured son of John and MaryKay Biggs Reichard. As the oldest of eight children, he shared his childhood with four sisters and three brothers. In 1988 he graduated from Culver High School. He was active in Future Farmers of America and was a 10 year member of the 4-H Club.

Rodney and RaeAnn Lynn Widman Reichard were married on February 24 , 1998 in Rochester by Mayor Phil Thompson. They shared 18 years of life's adventures.  Together they raised three wonderful children Rolanda, Miraenda and Riley.  Rodney enjoyed guiding his children with their annual 4-H livestock projects.

With a lifelong passion for agriculture, Rodney enjoyed living and raising his family on an "Old McDonald's  style farm.  An abundance of variety of animals, he enjoyed caring for sheep, goats, cows, pigs,  a llama, pigeons, ducks, turkeys, geese and chickens.  As a fancier, his forte' was rabbits.  Rodney and Riley enjoyed open shows presenting their Californian Whites  all over the U.S.

Left to cherish the memories of Rodney are his wife, RaeAnn; two daughters: Rolanda, and Miraenda ; a son, Riley; his parents, John and MaryKay Reichard; four sisters: Candy Reichard of CA, Kathleen Gibbs and husband Kevin of GA, Kara Reichard of CA, Connie Duran of CA; three brothers: Ray Reichard and wife Carley of Macy, Robin Reichard and wife Karen of GA, Ryan Reichard and wife Mary of VA; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding Rodney in death are his grandparents and a special grandpa, Lowell Young.

Rev. Don Funk will officiate services. Interment will be in the Moon Cemetery.
