On February 24 , 1953, Robert Lynn Wilson was born in Rochester. He was a treasured son of Russell and Lois Gaumer Wilson . The youngest of the Wilson kids he shared his childhood with a sister Terry and brother Tom. Rob was one of God's special kids. He worked at the Manitou Training Center, from it's inception until shortly prior to his passing.

The youngest of the Wilson kids he shared his childhood with a sister Terry and brother Tom. Rob was one of God's special kids. He worked at the Manitou Training Center, from it's inception until shortly prior to his passing.
As a young man
Rob
enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship of his brother Tom who he idolized. They experienced many endless adventures together. Rob was proud of his arm wrestling prowess, challenging most men he met to a match.
Rob enjoyed latch-hooking and making hot pads. Many were the hot pads he gave to family and friends. Rob had a great sense of humor and his memory was fantastic. He knew birthdays, anniversaries and happenings others forgot. He was proud of his haircuts from Larry saying to others, "how does it look?"
Rob
enjoyed bowling in the Special Olympics Games and winning medallions. He
enjoyed music of all genre. Rob loved to dance, sometimes hours on end. His favorite artists were
Billy Ray Cyrus
, Tony
Orlando
and Dawn.
Tender and sweet, Rob was a quiet man of powerful influence. He taught those who surrounded him compassion, love, caring and to say I'm sorry. His radiant smile and twinkling eyes lit up the room. Paramount in his life was his loving family. The best and most memorable times were spent with all of them during the holidays and special family celebrations. To Rob, the greatest day of the year was February 24 , his birthday. He got all he could out of it as this was his day!
Left to cherish Rob 's memory are his sister, Terry Moore and husband Joe of Rochester; six nieces and nephews: Rusty and Connie Moore, Cris Moore, Mindy and Mike Martynowicz, Wendy and Jeff Zent, Andi and Chris Lee, and Michelle Wilson and companion Kevin Schultz; and a sister-in-law, Nedra Wilson Coplen and husband Bill of Rochester. Several grand nieces and nephews also survive. Rob was preceded in death by his parents Russ and Lois Wilson, and a special brother, Thomas G. "Tom" Wilson, May 30 , 2006.
Pastor Tom Richard will officiate. Burial will follow in the
Rochester
IOOF Cemetery.
