Richard Lee Smith,75, of 6073 N. Lake Shore Drive, Macy passed away Tuesday, December 13th, 2011 at 8:30 AM at his residence. He was born on June 17, 1935 in Logansport. Following high school, Richard served our country as a member of the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He retired from the General Motors Plant of Muncie after many years as a machinist. Friends will remember Richard cruising the roads in his 1984 blue and tan El Camino. Riding his Harley Davidson was a favorite way to catch the wind and rays. He was also a collector of Harley memorabilia. Enjoying the fresh air and fishing for the catch of the day was very relaxing for Richard. He will be lovingly remembered by 3 daughters: Debra Stinson of South Bend, Crystal Murray & husband Jerry of Lafayette, Cynthia Meyers of Wheatfield; 3 sons: Richard Smith & wife Cathy of Waxahachie, TX, twins Steven Smith & wife Becky of Grandview, TX, and Randall Smith of Alverado, TX He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lynn and a brother Mike. A celebration of the life of Richard L. Smith will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2011 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester with Pastor Thad Stewart officiating. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service. Military rites will be conducted by the LeRoy Shelton American Legion, #36 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars #1343.
