Mr. Richard L. Ogle, 87, passed away at 6:45 AM on Thursday, December 2 , 2021 at Chase Center of Logansport.
On June 2 , 1934, Richard Lowell Ogle was born in Crawfordsville to Charles and Maye Nicewander Ogle. Answering the call of patriotism, Richard served as a gunner for the US Army and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He was honorably discharged in 1956 and had received a good conduct medal. While in the army he learned how to cross-country ski.
As a young man, Richard worked for his father on a farm pick up route. Later he began hauling canned milk and over the years it transitioned in to hauling bulk milk and whey. Eat, sleep and go to work was Richard's way of life. He was always happy when he was busy. With a strong work ethic he drove a truck nearly 50 years. After retiring in 2000, Dick continued to drive, chauffeuring his Mennonite neighbors. As a great story teller, he had an amazing recall for detail.
Richard Lowell Ogle and Darlene M. Whiting on October 19 , 1957 in Knox. They shared nearly 64 years of life's adventures. Sadly, she passed away on September 5 , 2021. Their union produced five wonderful children with the blessings of two more generations added to the family tree.
