Mr. Ralph E. Curtis Jr. 81 of rural Rochester was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 12:50 PM
Friday, November 23
, 2018 at his home.
On
September 1
, 1937, Ralph was born in Rochester. He was a treasured son of Ralph E. Sr. and Edna M. Paxton Curtis. Growing up he shared his childhood with a sister Sharon and two brothers Bob and Jimmy.
In Rochester, on
August 1
, 1954, Ralph married Peggy L. Wagoner. Their union of over 64 years brought into the world three wonderful children Vicki, Marsha and Steve. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of three more generations.
Dedicated to the milk industry for more than four decades, Ralph hauled milk from area dairy farms to the dairy. His initial runs were to the Armour Dairy, then later to Crystal Dairy both in Rochester. Ralph later delivered to Stella Cheese in Peru. He was passionate about Oliver tractors.
A favorite way to relax was heading out to the auctions. Ralph could be spotted in the crowd with the # 7 bidders card situated in his chest pocket as he made bids for the best treasures. He later re-sold many of his coveted buys. One of his more recent bids
yielded a gray Craftsman riding mower. He was thoroughly delighted to watch Peggy mow and groom their yard with
meticulous
perfection.
Remembered for his generosity, Grandpa Ralph was devoted to his family. As the proud patriarch of the Curtis clan, he was proud to oversee five generations. There was nothing better than the holidays or special family celebrations when the family got together sharing special times and making many memories.
