Obituary

Mrs. Phyllis D. Triplett, 75, of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, January 9 , 2016 at Hickory Creek of Rochester.

In Virginia, Phyllis Delores Pittman was born on July 6 , 1940.  She was the cherished daughter of Miller and Dallas Duty Pittman.  Growing up she shared her childhood with a brother Bobby.

On June 30 , 1961, Phyllis and Jack Triplett were married in Helenwood, TN. They shared 54 years, of life's adventures, until Jack's passing on November 26 , 2015.

A devoted member of the Riverview Community Church, Phyllis provided musical accompaniment, playing the piano for Sunday services.  She was actively involved in many of the churches causes and was a member of the adult Sunday school class.  In addition to her church, she was dedicated to many community philanthropic endeavors.  She served as a director for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Fulton County.   For many years  Phyllis played a vital role with the Muscular Dystrophy Association lock-up, playing the roll of Judge.

To relax Phyllis looked forward to the challenges of crossword puzzles and word games keeping her mentally sharp.  She and Jack enjoyed the adventures of travel.  They were quite accomplished visiting all 50 contiguous states.  Paramount in her life were her three grandchildren, that she truly adored.  Looking forward to reciprocal visits to Iowa or the grandkids to Indiana there was nothing more important than getting together and making memories.

Phyllis is lovingly remembered by a daughter, Melissa Fitzpatrick and husband Martin of San Luis Obispo, CA; a son, Russell "Rusty" Triplett and wife Laura of Cedar Rapids, IA; and 3 grandchildren: Sydney, Sammie and Erik Triplett.
Preceding Phyllis in death are her parents, beloved husband Jack and two brothers, one in infancy and Bobby Pittman.

Rev. Rod Ruberg will officiate services.   She
will be laid to eternal rest in  the Mt. Zion Cemetery, southeast of Rochester.
