Mrs. Phyllis Jean Daulton, 92, of Rochester was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 6:35 AM Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Life Care Center of Rochester. On May 5, 1922, Phyllis Jean Wilson was born in Fulton County, the cherished daughter of Andrew and Edna Goss Wilson. Growing up she shared her childhood with her brother Richard. With great Zebra pride, in 1940 Jean graduated from Rochester High School with her class. Phyllis Jean married Wayne A. Daulton on February 16, 1941 in Valparaiso. Together they enjoyed nearly 54 years of life's adventures. From their union came two beautiful daughters, Candy and Jill, and a son Jack. Sadly Wayne passed away on January 14, 1995. Dedicated at Hart-Schaffner-Marx Corporation, Jean retired after 23 years of service. She was the proud owner of a unique collection of coo-coo clocks and Tiffany lamps. An avid reader and life long learner she kept herself sharp on the cutting edge reading a variety of books, magazines and gossip tabloids. Her favorite topic was steamy romance. Jean's most treasured book was Fifty Shades of Gray. Keeping up with local breaking news, Jean was locked on to her scanner; she even used her pillow speaker for night time listening. She also enjoyed shopping for stylish clothing from QVC. In earlier years with Wayne--Jean loved accompanying him to the horse races in Chicago. She enjoyed the beauty of the horses and placing bets. She and Wayne enjoyed numerous visits to the Kentucky Derby. There was nothing quite like the greatest spectacle in horse racing and the pageantry that went along with it. A beautiful lady of elegance, Jean was always attired in her wide brimmed picture hat that accented her pastel spring dress accessorized by selected jewelry. In more recent years, she is remembered as the Queen of Bingo as she skillfully played multiple cards. When Bingo for the day was complete, Jean gathered her lucky cards putting them in a special place, ready for the next Bingo event. The treasured prizes she won was shared joyfully with her family. Left to cherish Jean's memory are two daughters: Candace Ragland and husband Jack of Carmel, Jill Alber of Rochester; a son Jack Daulton and wife Ninon of Atlanta, GA; five grandsons: Joe Foster and wife Katheryn, John Foster, Dustin Overmyer and wife Robin, Eric Hammel and wife Val, Jack Daulton; and numrous great grandchildren. Preceding Jean in death are her parents, husband and a brother, Richard Wilson. Private family services will be held. Good Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
