Mrs. Phyllis Jean Clemans, 60, of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 4:50 AM, Monday, April 3 , 2017 at her residence.  This followed a valiant battle with cancer.

On November 8 , 1956, in  Fulton County, Phyllis Jean White was born.  She was a treasured daughter of   Walter B. and Mary Katherine Ispock White.  Growing up Phyllis shared her childhood with a sister Patricia and two brothers Daniel and Ricky.

In Wise City, VA,  on December 3 , 1972, Phyllis Jean married the love of her life Mr.  Robert "Bob" Clemans Jr.   They have shared 45 years of life's adventures. From their union came two wonderful children Donna Jean and Robert Oliver III.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A faithful member of the Whippoorwill Community for many years, Phyllis was baptized by Rev. John Andrews at the Talma Baptist Church in 1987.  She was also a member of the ladies auxiliaries of the V.F.W., American Legion and Eagle's Lodge.  Phyllis took great pride in helping her customers during the years that she served the 4th Street Mini-mart as assistant manager.

An artist, Phyllis expressed herself with acrylics, finishing a number of paint by number projects.  She also enjoyed the art of latch-hook. Phyllis mastered many computer games.  She also enjoyed keeping up with her many friends on Facebook.

Phyllis is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bob; a daughter, Donna Jean Cassel and husband Todd of Warsaw; a son, Robert Oliver Clemans III and wife Kacie of Rochester; seven grandchildren:  Joseph Clemans, Jordan Buzzbee, Skyler Clemans, David Clemans, Eric Cassel, Craig Cassel, Isaac Cassel; a great granddaughter, Addyson Jade Clemans and a great grandson,  Joseph James Cassel, due to arrive in June;  a sister, Patricia Borden; two brothers: Daniel White Sr. and wife Jennifer, Ricky White Sr. and wife Annette, all of Rochester; father-in-law,  Robert E. Clemans Sr. and wife Mary of Edwardsburg, MI; sister-in-laws: Judy Hoge of Silver Lake, Amy Brock of Elkhart, Mechelle Mares and husband Steve of Il, Terry Littlefield and husband Joe of Elkhart; brother-in-laws: Arden Clemans and wife Missy of Rochester, Darrell Watts of Goshen; several nieces, nephews and cousins; Misty, the blonde-brown Pomeranian, and Precious, the gray long hair Angora.

Preceding Phyllis in death are her father in 1988; mother in 2002; an infant granddaughter, Phyllis Jean "PJ"  Clemans in 1996; grandson, Christian Cassel in 2001; a sister-in-law, Carol Carlson; and three brothers-in-law: James Hoge, Donald Borden and Louis Watts.

Pastor Brian Sewell will officiate. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
