Phillip S. Land

Phillip S. Land, 45, of Knox passed away on June 27, 2026, following a motor vehicle accident in Starke County near North Judson in the early evening hours.

Phillip Scherf Land was born on October 16, 1980, in Knox, to Phillip Daniel Land and Melissa (Scherf) Land. He graduated with his Class of 1999 from Rochester Community High School. During his lifetime, Phillip spent his finest hours fishing and riding his bicycle.

Left to cherish Phillip's memory are his mother, Melissa Gates (David) of Kewanna; and paternal grandfather, Milton Scherf of Fort Wayne.

Phillip was preceded in death by his father and maternal grandmother, Marjorie Scherf.

A Celebration of Life for Phillip S. Land will be held at 2:00 PM EDST on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester. Pastor Curtis May will officiate. His family will receive friends at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Leiters Ford IOOF Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to his family for the purchase of a monument.
