Obituary

Mrs. Patricia  "Pat"  Quier,  76, of Rochester, passed away at 7:41 PM, May 21 , 2018 at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

In Fulton County, on September 5 , 1941 Patricia "Pat" Sayger was born.  She was a treasured daughter of Otis and Betty Lowe Sayger.  Growing up she shared her childhood with two sisters, Tracy and Kitty, and a brother David.  in 1959 Pat graduated from Rochester High School.

Near the sparkling waters of Lake Manitou, on November 15 , 1959 Pat married the love of her life, Mr. Donald L. Quier.   Together they shared over 48 years of life's adventures.  From their union came two wonderful children, Nelson and Betty.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of three more generations.

Many will remember Pat serving her customers with a smile from the meat counter at Townsend's IGA.  More recently she was a cashier at Walmart.  Many years she was a caregiver for children in her home.  Pat was a member of the ladies auxiliaries of the Eagles Lodge and  the Manitou VFW Post # 1343.

In the earlier years, Pat enjoyed vegetable gardening.  The fall brought on the bountiful harvest and she froze tomatoes and vegetable soup for the family's winter use.  With a passion for traveling Pat's favorite  destinations were South Dakota and Lake Michigan.  She enjoyed  watching  and feeding her feathered friends visiting her backyard.  Pat is remembered for the mantra she lived by the only way to do something is do it right.

Left to cherish Pat's memory are her children: Betty Beam and husband Michael of Plymouth, Nelson Quier and wife Brenda of DeRidder, LA; six grandchildren: Tammy LaFosse and husband Justin, Anthony Wardrup and wife Denna, Donny Wardruup and wife Crystal, Brandon Beam and wife Kaidee, Elisha Beam and fiancee' Wayne Taylor, Ariel Vollmer and husband Brian; 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Tracy Lewis of Rochester.  Preceding her in death are her parents, Otis Sayger and Betty Glentzer;  her beloved husband, Donald L. Quier on December 7 , 2007; a sister, Kitty Kessler; and a brother, David Glentzer.

Pastor Thad Stewart will officiate services.   Burial will follow at the Athens-Hoover Cemetery.
