Nelda Mae Rhodes, 87, passed away at 1:57 AM on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Millers Merry Manor of Peru.

On April 13, 1933, Nelda was born in Chesterton to Maurice and Marcella Lines.

Nelda and Bobby Gene Rhodes were married in Chesterton on July 15, 1951. They shared 52 years of life's adventures. Sadly, he passed away on January 25, 2003. Their union produced two daughters and a son. Two more generations have been added to the family tree with 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Starting every morning at 5:00 AM, Nelda began her day with reading her Bible.  Nelda was thankful for the blessings God had bestowed on her family. As a homemaker, Nelda was an avid baker, making Christmas cookies and popcorn balls and often cooking and baking with Kathy. Being outdoors and spending time in nature was always enjoyed. She was a member of the Carpenter House of Kokomo.

Left to cherish  Nelda's memory are two daughters: Kathy Musall and husband Dennis of Mexico, Vicky Hines and husband Roger of Rochester; a son, Rick Rhodes and wife Becky of Sharpsville; 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Lines and wife Alberta of Chesterton.

Preceding Nelda in death are her parents Maurice and Marcella Lines, beloved husband Bobby Gene Rhodes and infant daughter Rhonda Kay.

Private family services will be held. Interment will be in the Athens Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind, 1039 S. Rochester Rd., Rochester, MI, 48307-3115.
