Myron " Bo" Childs, 78, of Macy passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
On March 16, 1944, Myron Larry was born in Shantytown, OH to Arthur and Matilda Marks Childs.
Answering the call of patriotism, Bo served during the Cuban Conflict with the US Army.
Bo and Gloria Joan Hartley were married on May 5, 1969. They have shared 53 years together. Their union produced two children and two more generations have been added to the family tree with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Over the years, Bo worked as a welder and custom fabricator for Moon Welding. Long rides on the open road on his Harley was a great passion. His memberships include ABATE, and N&C Indiana Biking. Weekend boogie trips to Louisville, Bean Blossom and Sturgis were enjoyable with the bike ride and entertainment. He loved to throw a line in his favorite watering hole with his sons, grandsons and friends. With a warm heart, in the colder months, Bo ice fished with great success.
Left to cherish the memories of Bo are his wife Gloria; four children: Larry Childs of Painesville, OH, Mark Childs and wife Sharon of Leroy, OH, Angela Nichols and husband Jay of Ashtabula, OH, Joseph Childs of Kokomo; son-in-law Jeff Hodson; 14 grandchildren: Alishia Moore, Jeffery Hodson and wife Summer, Bo Martin, Sarah Martin, Austin Hodson, Alisa Atherton and husband Devon, Amber Childs, Joshua Childs, Brook Childs, Alyssa Coursen and husband Anthony, Natasha Nichols, Katie Erickson, Jessica Erickson, Nina Nichols; 12 great grandchildren: Christopher Moore, Jacob Moore, Cayden Allen, Gavin Allen, Chloe Allen, Grayson Roth, Apollo Atherton, Leviticus Atherton, Ashlynne Hodson, Haley Hodson, James Hodson and Brinden Martin; another blessing to arrive later this year is a great great grandson; and canine companion Betty Jean.
Preceding Bo in death are his parents; daughter, Teresa Childs Marner in 2018; and two canine companions, Sweet Pea and Gus.
A celebration of life for Myron Childs will be from 1-3 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Rodgers Pavilion at Highland Park, 902 West Defenbaugh St. Kokomo, IN
