Mrs. Mona Lou Snook, 60, of 2950 Bachelor Rd. Rochester, passed away at 6:47 AM, Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011 at Select Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born in Rochester, IN on January 31, 1951, to the late Francis and Naomi Pickens Tyler. Mona and Philip E. Snook were married on May 11, 1984 in Rochester. As a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was also a CNA at Life Care Center and Hickory Creek, both of Rochester. Her crafting talents included tatting, crocheting, knitting, making scarves, afghans and doilies. Making Christmas ornaments and creating designer Easter Eggs with her husband were favorite times. Searching for those specials deals found only at garage sales was also a hobby. Mona was a member of the Eagles and the LeRoy Shelton American Legion auxiliaries, both of Rochester. Mona is survived by her husband Phil Snook, at home , a daughter, Naomi "Midge" Taulbee of Rochester, 4 sons, Scott Snook of Florida, Terry Snook & wife Angela of Reno, NV., Eric Day of Fulton, Philip Snook & wife Kristy of Akron, 3 sisters, Elnora Sayger & husband Jack, Clymenia Halterman & husband Willis, Judy Kuhn & husband Charles all of Rochester, 3 brothers, Billy Tyler & wife Donna, Paul Tyler & wife Sandy, Jim Tyler & companion Betty, all of Rochester, 7 Grandchildren: Amber Day, Douglas Day, Justin Whitaker, Natalie Taulbee, Elizabeth Snook, Warren Snook, Colin Snook and 3 Great Grandchildren: Noah, Daniel & Gavin. A canine companion ; Pogo, a Heinz 57 Chardonnay also survives, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, a sister Lois Jean Gundrum, 2 brothers, Ralph Tyler & Bud Tyler. A celebration of the life of Mona Snook will be at 1:00 on Monday, February 28, 2011 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St.,Rochester, with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11- 1 on Monday in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Bruce Lake Cemetery.
