Michael E. "Mic" Cox, 67, of Rochester, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at his residence.

On August 21, 1950, Michael Edwin "Mic" Cox was born in Logansport.  He was the treasured son of  Edwin and Dorothy Coffman Cox.  Growing up he shared his childhood with two sisters Barb sand Karen.  Mic was a 1968 graduate of Logansport High School.

In the First Baptist Church of Rochester  Mic married the love of his life, Janet E. Hildebrand, on November 27, 1976.  They shared 41 years of life's adventures.  Over the years the family tree grew with the added blessings of eleven grandchildren.

During the 1980's Mic owned the Family Fun Center of Rochester.  He continued on as a concessionaire, creating  the Red Barn Elephant Ears.    They were well known for their warm, light delectable elephant ears, as well as other delicious foods that their customers savored.

A man of vision and strong faith, Mic was a loyal member of the Faith Outreach Center, Prison Fellowship at Westville and  Big Brothers.  He also served the Red Cross for more than three decades.  Earlier he enjoyed  keeping the official score book for the  New Life basketball team.

At home the weekends brought on sports, Mic was poised with the remote in his hand and positioned perfectly in his recliner ready to cheer for the Cubs, Colts and IU basketball, especially during the Bobby Knight era.  He relaxed with pinball, known by many as a true pinball wizard, using the correct touch to maximize results.  Mic was skilled at shooting skeet.

Janet and Mic enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and  "the boat."  They were the number one cheerleaders for their kids and now their grandchildren, attending all school and sporting events.   Grandpa Mic looked forward to family celebrations and the holidays, making memories with his family.  Always ready to entertain, Grandpa looked forward to giving the grandkids "carnie rides," on his golf cart as they tooled around the homestead.

Left to cherish Mic's memory are  his wife, Janet; his mother, Dorothy Cox of Logansport;  two daughters: Cathy Cummins and husband John of North Manchester, and  Andi Price and husband Jason of Rochester; a son, Alan Schwarte of Rochester; 11 grandchildren: Alexander Schwarte, Dakota Schwarte, Isaac Miller and companion Stephanie Siple, Ian Miller, Isabella Miller, Josh Price, Aubrey Price, Jaelynn Price, Samantha Cummins, Joe Cummins, Shaun Cummins; two sisters: Barb Miller and husband Kenneth of Rochester, Karen Stevens and husband Mike of Lucerne; sister-in-law Joyce Ginther and husband Jerry of Rochester; brother-in-law Jay Hildebrand of Kalamazoo, MI; mother-in-law Judie Hildebrand of LaBelle, FL; step-brother Tim Dawson and wife Julie of Elkhart, step-sister Vickie Leventhal of LaBelle, FL; uncle Joe Cox of CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mic in death is his father Edwin  and father-in-law, Dallas Hildebrand.

Pastor Terry Baldwin  will officiate services. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery,
