Mr. Melvin B. Hill, 77, of Rochester passed away at 1:01 PM on Friday, June 18 , 2021, at Parkview - Randallia  Fort Wayne.

On February 9 , 1944, Melvin Bruce Hill was born in Auckland, New Zealand.  He was a treasured son of Byron C. and Sybil A. Scobie Hill. Growing up he shared his childhood with a brother Raymond and a sister Sharon. Melvin was a member of Rochester High School class of 1962. He worked for the State Highway Department and later McMahon Construction Company.

Gifted with his hands, Melvin enjoyed woodworking and was a great handyman, able to fix nearly anything.  An American outdoorsman, camping and canoeing were always a great way to relax.

Left to cherish Melvin's memory are a daughter, Wendy Burns and husband Mark of Denver; two granddaughters:  Amber Stewart and husband Nick, and Sybil Burns; two great-grandchildren: Nicholas Stewart and Cooper Stewart; and a brother, Raymond Turner of Rochester.

Preceding Melvin in death are his parents and a sister Sharon Iacovilli.

Per his request, private family services will be held.
