Mary M. Meyer

Mary M. Meyer, 94, formerly of Rochester, was surrounded by her family when she passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at her home in Milford.

Mary was born on March 22, 1932 in Clintwood, VA to Floyd and Dorothy (Tackett) Bumgardner. She was one of eight children. Prior to living in Milford, she lived in North Manchester before coming to Rochester where she lived for many years.

Mary was joined in marriage to Victor Zartman and together they shared the blessing of raising their daughter, Marilyn, and two sons, Ronald and David. In later years, Mary was united in marriage with Howard E. Meyer on June 14, 1975 in Rochester. Together, they blended their families and enjoyed the blessings of a growing family tree to include grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Sadly, Howard passed away on December 14, 2007.

Mary was employed at Delco Electronics in Kokomo where she worked for 15 years in production. Outside of work and raising her family, she enjoyed handcrafting projects that included crochet and needlepoint. A woman of faith, Mary was a member of the Church Of The Nazarene.

Left to cherish the memories of Mary are her daughter, Marilyn Thompson (Roger); two sons: Ronald Zartman (Marlynn) and David Zartman (Ruth) all of Milford; step-daughter, Diana Wise of Ft. Wayne; step-son, Michael Meyer (Vicki) of Rochester; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Mary in death are her parents; husbands Victor Zartman (Nov. 2005) and Howard E. Meyer; sisters: Ellen Anderson, Jessie Stout, Kathern Willis, Rachel Damron; brothers: Monrow, Bennie, and Bill Bumgardner.

A Celebration of the life of Mary Meyer will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester, IN. Her family will receive friends on Friday from 11 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
