Former  of Rochester resident ,Mary Alice Jones,  passed away on Saturday, February 18 , 2017 in Trenton, Michigan.

On February 2 , 1920 Mary Alice Long was born in Kosciusko County.   She was the cherished daughter of  George and Esther Dunfee Long.

In Ligonier, on September 16 , 1954, Mary Alice married the love of her life Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Jones. They shared 58 years of life's adventures. Sadly he passed away on October 18 , 2012.

A gardener, Mary Alice and Jerry enjoyed the annual  planting of the garden.  Every spring she strived to enhancing the landscape of their home with by planting colorful flowers.  Accomplished with handiwork, Mary Alice enjoyed sewing and knitting gifts of warmth for family and special friends.  She was also a devoted member of Rochester's  First Christian Church for many years.

Left to cherish Mary Alice's memory are  a son, John Jones and wife Sharon of Trenton, MI; a step- daughter, Laura Keller and husband Vance of Lake Okeechobee, FL;   a step son, Howard Jones of Rochester;  5 grandchildren: Adam Jones, Laney Jones, Margaret Kuster, Lindsey Liddle, Jeffrey Jones; 2 great grandchildren: Harper Liddle  and Cohen Liddle; 7 step grandchildren; and numerous step great grandchildren.

Preceding Mary in death are her parents, beloved husband, Jerry and son, Thomas Jones on October 17 , 2005.

Pastor Mike VanHeyningen will officiate services. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
