Mrs. Martha Ellen DeTurk, 85, of Rochester, IN, passed away at 2:40 PM, Sunday, April 12th, at her residence. On March 14, 1930, Martha was born in Bradshaw, WV to Thomas and Millie Blankenship Blankenship. She was one of 10 children. Martha and Guy DeTurk were married on March 21, 1953 in Grundy, VA and moved to Indiana, making the Rochester Community their home. They shared 53 years of life's adventures. Guy passed away on April 12, 2006, Martha was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family and her canine and feline companions. Martha is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Barbara Ball of Rochester; her son, Cecil Blankenship of Oakwood, VA; 4 grandchildren: Bruce W. Wiard Jr., Farrah Grubbs, Destiney R. McKenzie and Melinda Martin; 7 great grandchildren: Stephanie Grubbs, Kyleigh Grubbs, Tiffany Martin, Derek Martin, Alexander Martin, Zachary McKenzie, Abigail McKenzie, her feline companions: Hannah and Tiger. Preceding Martha in death are her parents, husband, 4 sisters: Linda, Rosie, Alice and Virginia, 5 brothers: Miles, Clarence, Wallace, Irvin and Moses and daughter-in-law: Norma Blankenship. Cash, the brown and brindle Pit Bull and her cats, Rumor and Sweet Pea have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
