A third generation nurse,  Marcia A. Wenrick  RN, 86, of Rochester passed away at 10:30 PM Friday, November 20 , 2020 at  Wynnfield Crossing.
On March 18 , 1934, Marcia Ann Suddith was born in Indianapolis. She was a treasured daughter of Beaman and Effie Borden Suddith.    Growing up as one of the three Suddith children she shared her childhood with her younger fraternal twins a sister "Bert" and brother Bob.  The Suddith family moved to Rochester during Marcia's  5th grade year.  She graduated from Rochester High School with the revered class of 1952.
Following high school Marcia pursued her dream of becoming a nurse, by moving to South Bend while attending Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.  She graduated with a registered nurse degree and began her nursing career at Memorial.
On Sept. 2, 1956, at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Rochester,  Marcia married the love of her life Mr. Edward S. Wenrick.   They repeated their wedding vows before the Rev. Delmar Kruger and the congregation.  They enjoyed over 55 years of life's adventures. From their union came two wonderful children Beth Ann and Michael Edward.
Following their marriage,  Ed and Marcia returned to Rochester and Marcia continued nursing at Woodlawn Hospital for a 13 year stint.  In 1969 she accepted the appointment of being Dr. Joe Richardson's  office nurse.  After 29 years of dedicated service, Marcia hung up her stethoscope and  retired in 1998.
A devoted member of the St. John Lutheran Church for over 60 years, Marcia supplied musical accompaniment for the Sunday services, choir and congregation for many decades.  She served the Fulton County Republicans as Precinct #1 committeeman and was a member of the Rochester City Council for many years.   Marcia was also a member of the Indiana State Nurses Association.
A family of adventure, the Wenricks enjoyed many summer camping and fishing vacations to Michigan and Wisconsin.  They annually planted a large garden sharing the bountiful harvest with family and neighbors.  Marcia enjoyed listening to music or honing her skills on the Hammond.  She collected many unique Longaberger baskets and loved anything Vera Bradley.
Left to cherish Marcia's memory are her son, Mike E. Wenrick of Rochester; sister, Roberta "Bert" Suddith of Ft. Wayne; a brother,  Robert "Bob" Suddith and wife Kathy of Wilmington, NC; and Baby, her feline companion, an orange-colored Maltese.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceding Marcia in death are her parents Beaman and Effie Suddith, beloved husband Ed on July 22 , 2011, and daughter Beth Ann on August 3 , 1989.
A celebration of the life of Marcia A. Wenrick RN will be held at Rochester's IOOF Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 25 , 2020.  Pastor Curtis May will officiate. Her service will be live streamed on the Facebook page of Curtis May. https://www.facebook.com/curtis.may.5477
