Marcia Kay Taylor, 83, of Akron passed away on January 19 , 2022.

On March 8 , 1938, Marcia Kay Hunneshagen was  born in Rochester to Hugh V. and Geneva (Brooker) Hunneshagen. On July 11 , 1956 she married Dennis D. Taylor who passed away September 7 , 2010. She was a 1956 graduate of Rochester High School where she was active in Art. She studied with Art Instruction, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In 1959, Marcia and Dennis moved to Orlando, Florida where she was employed by Curry Offset Press and Glen L. Martin Missile Company in the Bullpup Division as an artist. When they returned to Rochester, she was employed by Topps Manufacturing Company and McMahon-O'Connor Construction Company. While working at Topps Manufacturing she did a piece of art work for Canada and France. She also worked in the printing, photography, embroidery, and silk-screening departments.

Marcia enjoyed gardening, collecting recipes and cookbooks. She studied genealogy for 50 years getting one line as far back as William the Conqueror. She was a 38-year member of the Manitou Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Marcia was also a 36-year member of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865 member of Marinda B Dye tent #17 from Kokomo, Indiana. She indexed books for the DAR Genealogy Library and earned the Bookworm pin and bar. She embroidered several bell pulls, table runners and banners. She won first place at the National level several times. Marcia also enjoyed playing the dulcimer and won honorable mention with her writing of "George Washington-We Love You Still". She decorated family graves every Memorial Day for 53 years.

Survivors include three children: daughter Sally (Alan) Sterk, King, NC, daughter Sara (Ron) Kruger, Akron, and son Samual (Jody) Taylor, Logansport;  a sister, Marilyn Henderson, Pontiac, MI; five grandchildren:  Chuck (Chrissie) Sterk, Kaela (Scott) Virgil, Terra Kruger, Courtney (Dustin) Stone Ashley (Sam) Spencer; seven great-grandchildren:  Calvin Sterk, Jaxtyn Virgil, Jadyn Virgil, Laela Virgil, Xandyr Johnson, Karli Hogue and Kiana Hogue; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Marcia in death are her parents, husband, brother Hugh Hunneshagen, Jr., sister, Roberta Friedland and granddaughter, Aubrey Hogue.

A celebration of the life of Marcia Kay Taylor  will be at 11:00 on Monday, January 24 , 2022 at the  Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18 ^th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
