Mrs. Mabel B. Wagoner, 93, of 1491 Liberty Lane Rochester, passed away at 9:40 PM, Wednesday, February 15th, 2012 at Life Care Center of Rochester. Mabel was born in Miami County on February 8, 1919, to Wilbur & Pearl Opple Craig. As one of seven children she shared her childhood with 3 sisters: Vernice, Mildred and Esther, and three brothers: Devon, Raymond and Lloyd. As a youngster she attended Woodrow School and later graduated from Rochester High School. On December 3, 1938 Mabel and Russell W. Wagoner were married in Fulton. Their union of more than a half century produced two children, Diana and Roger. The family tree continued to grow over the years with the additions of 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Mabel was an avid gardener with both vegetables and flowers. She shared the produce with family and special friends and canned the bounty for later use. A person of giving nature she shared her beautiful flowers by creating fresh cut arrangements, once winning first prize with her arrangement that was aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Mabel was a devoted member of the 1st Baptist Church for many years. She also was a member of the Reiter Club and Garden Club. Many will remember her thoughtful and kind assistance she gave to those who shopped at Rochester's B & B Men's Store. Mabel will be lovingly remembered be a daughter, Diana M. Sult & husband William of Rochester; a son, Rev. Roger W. Wagoner & Linda of Hot Springs Village, Ark; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; and a sister: Vernice Rhodes of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell on September 20, 1991, 2 sisters: Mildred Wagoner, Esther Bowen, and 3 brothers: Devon, Raymond & Lloyd Craig. Dr. Mark Spencer will officiate services. She wil be laid to eternally rest next to her beloved husband of 52 years in Rochester's IOOF Cemetery. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
