Obituary

Lulu Belle Walker, 85, of Bunker Hill was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away on February 10 , 2023 at Howard Community Hospital of Kokomo.

On December 11 , 1937,  Lulu Belle Peters was born in Winamac to Walter L. and Cora E. (Warmbrod) Peters. Growing up she shared her childhood with four sisters and a brother. Proudly she graduated from Winamac High School with the class of 1955.

Lulu Belle and William Eugene Walker were married on December 11 , 1960. They shared 23 years of life's adventures.  Their union produced four wonderful children

Lulu Belle was an active sister with Kappa Delta Pi Sorority in Howard County. Her other memberships include the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  She enjoyed traveling  and camping at Mississinewa with her family. Other hobbies include crocheting, bowling and gardening.  Most recently she enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and working crossword puzzles. Lulu Belle cherished the time with her family and always looked forward to their get togethers. As an office clerk, Lulu Belle worked for  (ASCS) Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Services in Howard County until her retirement.

Left to cherish Lulu Belle's memory are her daughter, Donna Walker of Bunker Hill; three sons: Jeffrey Walker and companion Tina Dodge of Matthews, NC, David Walker and companion Kathy Latta of Galveston, Rodney Walker and wife Nickie of Kokomo; grandchildren: Marissa McHenry and husband Eric, Joseph Plez Walker, Kelly Walker and fiancé Michael Fleming, Erin Walker, Willy Walker, Elisa Walker, Dylan Commons and companion Rayne Studebaker, Jacob Walker; seven great grandchildren; and sister Ellen Horn of Winamac.

Preceding Lulu Belle in death are her parents; loving husband William E. Walker on July 7 , 1983; three sisters: Lucille Overmyer, Olive Master, Norma Master; and brother Willard Peters.

A celebration of the life of Lulu Belle Walker will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 17 , 2023 at the Pleasant Hill Lake Bruce Community Church, 11782 – 11960 W. 75 N. Kewanna.  Friends may visit with the family from 11-1 in the church on Friday .  Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
