Mrs. Lucille "Lucy" M. Stacy, 85, of Rochester was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 8:20 PM Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Woodlawn Hospital of Rochester.

On December 15, 1930, Lucille was born in Franklin Park, IL, a cherished daughter of Eufemio and Rafaela Garcia Santoyo. Growing up she shared her childhood with eight brothers and two sisters. With her Mother's tragic and premature passing, Lucy accepted great responsibility with laundry, cooking and caring for her younger sisters and brothers.

In Chicago, near the Loop, in October of 1980, Lucille married the love of her life Ervin A. Stacy. Together they enjoyed over 35 years of life's adventures. Ervin and Lucy moved from one of the world's largest cities to the serene countryside of rural Rochester. They enjoyed the laid back, quite life our community offered.

Friends remember Lucy's culinary skills as she cooked many years at Maggie's and later Margarita's Restaurants. Lucy brought Rochester it's first taste of authentic Mexican cuisine from recipes and skills learned from her Mother in the early years.

A devout member of her church, Lucy attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church for many years. At home from her kitchen command post, Lucy baked custard pies, cakes and cookies. Ervin and she annually planted a truck patch garden and much of the bountiful harvest was canned by Lucy for winter use. Each spring she planted beautiful flowers around the landscape of their home to enhance it's beauty. She was an accomplished seamstress who knitted and crocheted.

Left to cherish Lucy's memory are he her loving husband, Ervin, two daughters: Simona Grace Budas and husband Tom of Bolingbrook, IL; Bettina Motzny and husband Eric of Palatine, IL two sisters: Dorothy Santoyo, Annette Vargas; six brothers: Fred Santoyo, Pete Santoyo, Florentino Santoyo II, Jesse Santoyo, Adolph Santoyo, Trino Santoyo; two grandchildren; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Lucille in death are her parents, infant sister: Tomasita Santoyo, three brothers: infant Florentino Santoyo I, Lupe Santoyo and John Santoyo.

Father Mike McKinney will officiate services. Burial will be in Rochester's IOOF Cemetery.
