Obituary

Louise Skidmore Vernon, 95, Rochester passed away at 10:25 PM, Monday, June 24th, at her residence. On May 17, 1918 she was born to Joshua M. and Mary Shamp Willard in Athens. Louise and William T. Skidmore were married on December 2, 1945. He passed away on August 9, 1984. Her second marriage was to John Vernon on December 5, 1992. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1996. In 1937, Louise became a member of the First Baptist Church of Rochester. After many years of service she retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. Louise is lovingly remembered by a daughter, Kay Myers and husband Carl of Fort Wayne and their sons Brett Myers and wife Suzie, Doug Myers and wife Pam, Scott Myers and wife Tara; their grandchildren: Abigel Myers, Dylan Myers and Grace Ann Myers, all of Fort Wayne; a son Travis Skidmore and wife Angel of Rochester and their daughters Deby Gauthier and husband Matt of Lincoln, NE, Catherine Rhein and husband Troy of Minneapolis, MN, Selly Campbell and husband TC of Silver Lake; their grandchildren: Benjamin Gauthier, Seth Gauthier, and Grace Gauthier; their step grandsons: Matt Nard and wife Carla, and Andy Nard, both of Rochester; their step great grandchildren: Hunter Nard and Megan Nard; two step daughters; Judy Vernon Zent of Carmel and Vicki Vernon Bobo and husband Don of Scottsdale, AZ; a sister Wilmajean Tullis of Macy; two half sisters: Patsy Taylor of Albuquerque, NM and Marlene Clark of Soap Lake, WA; a half brother Bill Willard and wife Shirley of Rochester; a step brother Gene Seidner of Rochester; 4 step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters: Shirley Wagner and Helen Morris, a brother Charles A. Willard, and a step-brother Bob Seidner. Dr. Mark Spencer and Rev. Junior Bose will officiate services. Interment will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
