On November 24 , 1926, Louise M. Edington was born near Kewanna to William and Mabel Irvin Edington. Growing up she shared her childhood with three sisters and four brothers. Louise was a member of the Grass Creek High School class of 1944.
On February 26 , 1950, Louise married the love of her life Mr. Walter F. Grube. They shared 37 years of life's adventures. From their union came four wonderful children: Connie, Jan, Jerry and Michael. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.
As a homemaker, Louise cherished the time with her family. She also worked for the former radio factory, Joyners. More recently she was a self employed cleaning professional offering custom services to her clients. Louise attended the Church of God where she was baptized by Rev. Never wanting to learn to drive, Louise was a walker. Staying fit and trim, it was not unusual for her to walk 2 - 3 miles daily to do her errands and visit friends along the way. She loved having coffee with friends and reading the newspaper. Louise moved to Peabody where she made many new friends while enjoying coffee and happy hour. She considered the staff at Peabody family and she appreciated the wonderful care they conveyed.
As the matriarch of the Grube family, Grandma Louise oversaw four generations. She took great joy with getting together to celebrate birthdays, family celebrations and the holidays. She once enjoyed a three-generation trip to London, England with Jan and Leah. Many memories were made exploring London. Another highlight was seeing the theater production Lion King.
