Obituary

Elizabeth A. "Liz" Furnivall, 78, of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away Wednesday, October 16th, at her residence. On February 3, 1935, Liz was born in Plymouth to Fritz and Fannie Howard Klingerman.
Liz married her best friend and the love of her life, Dale H. Furnivall, on March 24, 1951 in Rochester. Together they shared 48 loving years and raised 3 children, Steve, Mike and Sue. To Liz, Dale was perfect in every way, until he traded their motorcycle to buy their first home, without her consent. They loved to travel; Hawaii and Alaska were their favorite destinations. As they went everywhere together, it was often said that they were joined at the hip. Dale and Liz loved to golf and watch Tiger Woods when he was playing. If he didn't make the cut, it was not worth watching. The Colts were also a favorite until Payton Manning left the team, and her loyalties went to the Broncos. Saturday afternoons were often spent cheering for Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Football Team. Dale was always number one in Liz's life and she took care of him until he passed away on October 21, 1999. Elvis was "#2 ", but sometimes family and friends wondered after looking at the pictures and her shrine to him.
Flower gardening, bird watching and mowing the lawn were enjoyed by Liz, but she often was tormented by the squirrels and moles in her yard. After many years of service, Liz retired from Hart Schaffner and Marx of Rochester. She was a member of the Rochester Elks and the Moose Family Center of Rochester.
Liz is lovingly survived by a daughter, Susan Furnivall; two sons: Steven Furnivall, and wife Ann; Michael Furnivall and wife Terri, all of Rochester; 5 grandchildren: Ashley Cilfone and husband Marc, Craig, and Corbin Furnivall, Jon Wootten and Julia Bradley; 5 great grandchildren: Matthew, Joshua, Noah, and Timothy Wootten and Siena Cilfone; her little brother James Klingerman of Plymouth; three brothers-in-law: Duane Howard and wife Julia of Grants Pass, OR, David Furnivall and wife Linda of Warsaw, and Delon Furnivall and wife Terri of Tippecanoe; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding Liz in death are her parents and husband.
Rev. Maurice Grindle will officiate services.
