Obituary

Mrs. Linda L. Widman, 64, of Rochester passed away at 11: 17 AM Thursday, August 9th, 2012 at Woodlawn Hospital. Linda was born near Beaver Dam on November 24, 1947, the precious daughter of Leonard and Helen Yarian Beigh. She enjoyed her childhood in rural Akron and with great pride graduated with the Akron High School Class of 1966. On April 18, 1970, Linda and Raymond Charles Widman were married in the St. Anne's Catholic Church of Monterey. Their marriage spanned over 33 years and produced four wonderful children, 2 daughters, Rae Ann and Tamra, and two sons, Raymond and Thomas. On their dairy farm there was plenty to do with chores for 280 head of Holstein while milking 180. The farm also was home to two chicken laying houses that housed over 40,000 chickens, providing various delicious ingredients for Campbell's Soup! In the early years while living near Culver, Linda was a beautician styling ladies hair from her shop in the back of her home and at Miller's Merry Manor. She later worked at Adler's Gas Station, Park & Shop, and the Dairy Queen. Linda concluded her retail career with Rochester's Wal-Mart after 12 years of service, retiring in January of 2010. A gardener, Linda annually planted flowers that bloomed throughout the summer, adding color to the landscape of her home. To relax she enjoyed watching M.A.S.H., Matlock and James Bond. An extraordinary cook, she was best known for her 7-layer salad. Her potato and macaroni salads were also in demand. Olive Bethel Church of God was Linda's home church. She was the proud owner of a unique collection of angels. Paramount in her life was her family. With great pride she oversaw 3 generations, embracing every opportunity to be with her grandchildren. Grandma Linda hosted the family dinners at the holidays and during times of family celebrations. Linda will be lovingly remembered by two daughters: RaeAnn Lynn Reichard & husband Rodney of Akron, and Tamra Ann Goodman & husband Eliott of Clarmont, FL; two sons: Raymond Leonard Widman & wife Amy of Rochester, and Thomas Charles Widman of Rochester; seven grandchildren: Miraenda Widman, Riley Reichard, Rolanda Reichard, Hannah Goodman, Audrey Widman, Mackenzie Widman, and Macie Widman. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Rev. Don Funk will officiate services.
