Obituary

Linda McGlothin, 66, 1515 Arrowhead Drive, Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away Friday at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born in Rochester on Dec. 4, 1944, to George and Dorothy (Perdue) Crissinger. Growing up, Linda shared her childhood with her sister, Sue. She was a lifetime resident of Fulton County. On Oct. 5, 1963, Linda and John "Denny" McGlothin were married in Rochester. Their union spanned nearly 27 years, produced two lovely daughters, Candy and Wendy. The family tree continued to grow with the additions of three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. An avid fan of Debbie McComber and Jan Kron, Linda enjoyed reading their novels. She enjoyed cards, especially euchre, partnering with the late Connie VanSteenberg. Music legend Elvis Pressley was her favorite artist and composer. She had a vast collection of his memorabilia including a unique lamp. Linda found companionship with her small fleet of felines. She owned and loved this beautiful assortment of kitties ranging in a great variety, each one unique and special in her eyes. Around her home she planted vast flower gardens. The focal point was always her rose bushes - exploding with color the entire summer and into fall. A Christian woman, Linda was a loyal member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. The past seven years she served the local CASA as secretary. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Dorothy Crissinger, Rochester; two daughters, Candy Lynn Zartman, Rochester, and Wendy Lea White and husband Rob, South Bend; three grandchildren, Paul Zartman and fiance Holly Wolfe, Brinna Miller, and Avery White; four great-grandchildren, Jaylynn Zartman, Jasmyn Wolfe, Tayla Zartman, and Gracie Zartman; sister Sue Ann Blanchard, Rochester; and two sons-in law, Todd Zartman, Rochester, and Jerry Miller, South Bend. She was preceded in death by her father, George, and her husband Denny on July 15, 1990. A celebration of the life of Linda McGlothin will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. The Rev. Buck Padilla is officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
