Mr. Leroy W. "Dutch" Rouch 88 of Fulton, passed away at 7:56 a.m. May 4, 2014 at Logansport Memorial Hospital, shortly after admission to the emergency room. On August 22, 1925 near Tyner, Leroy W. "Dutch" Rouch was born, the treasured son of Dwight and Alta Beehler Rouch. Growing up he shared his childhood with a sister Arvella and a brother Marvin. In May of 1942, with great Bulldog pride, Dutch graduated from Fulton High School. Patriotism beckoned, Dutch answered the call serving our country during World War II with the United States Marine Corps. He was a coveted member of the highly regarded Black Sheep Squadron. In Peru, on June 15, 1957, Dutch married the love of his life who later became his best friend Jean Ann Miller Rouch. Together they shared over 56 years of life's adventures. From their union came two wonderful sons. Tragically they passed on before, Craig in 2001 and Brian in 2009. Four wonderful grandchildren complete the family tree with Brandon, Laynie, Abigail and Lindsey. After returning home from the service, Dutch began working along side his father at the Rouch's Garage. He developed a reputation as a dependable mechanic for Fulton and surrounding areas. Dutch continued to run the service center after the retirement of his dad for many years. On the farm, Dutch and Jean Ann oversaw the breeding and production of a fine herd of 60 sows. He is remembered by many Rochester and Caston school kids for his pleasant, friendly personality driving the children to and from school safely for a total of more than two decades. Stepping in to the political arena, Dutch served Fulton County as our councilman for four terms. He is remembered for his unique collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia. Left to cherish Dutch's memories are his beloved wife Jean Ann at home; 3 granddaughters: Lindsey Nicole Rouch at home, Laynie Mishay Rouch, San Francisco, Abigail Kaylee Rouch of Rochester; a grandson Brandon Jay Rouch of Las Vegas; a sister Arvella Sutton and husband Jim of Fulton; and a sister-in-law Betty Rouch of Ft. Wayne. Preceding Dutch in death are his parents, his sons Craig Rouch on May 7, 2001 and Brian Rouch on May 14, 2009 and his brother Marvin Rouch July 19, 2011.
