Mr. Leon H. Miller, 43, of Fulton passed away Friday evening at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne from injuries sustained in a farming accident. Born in Bremen on May 26, 1972, Leon was a treasured son and the second oldest of the Harley and Barbara Mullet Miller family. As one of ten children, growing up Leon shared his childhood with four sisters and five brothers. On September 4, 1999, at Rochester's 1st Baptist Church, Leon married the love of his life, who later became his best friend, Stephanie Ann Cohagan Miller. Together they shared nearly 16 years of life's adventures. Leon attended the Logansport Church of the Brethren. Dedicated to Keystone R.V. in Goshen, he currently served as a foreman. Leon enjoyed pulling trailers in the earlier years-- son Joe accompanied him. More recently it was Bralynn who like to ride along with Dad taking in many adventures. He also enjoyed helping his family on their farms. At home from his kitchen command post, Leon is remembered for his juicy steak dinners prepared with all the trimmings. He also created a custom stew known to his family as "Dog Soup." The Miller family annually planted a truck patch garden. Leading the way with the harvest, canning, and freezing was Leon, always in the thick of things. He is remembered for his love and compassion for his fellow man and was always there to help his family and many friends. Paramount in his life was his family. They enjoyed many camping expeditions to Holiday World in Southern Indiana. Many times the camping trips brought opportunities to fish. Léon could be seen seated on the bank with his trusty casting rod in hand pulling in the limit of blue gill and bass. As a Dad he enjoyed spending time with Bralynn. Many memories were made tusseling, bike riding and playing ball with Hershey. He never missed a softball game or dance recital and this year he took her to the Father-Daughter Dance. With Joe many memorable moments were made horseback riding and camping out under the star lit summer skies. Left to cherish Leon's memory are his wife, Stephanie Ann and a daughter, Bralynn Michelle both at home; a son, Joe Bontrager of Shipshewana; four sisters: Jolene Watson of Nappanee, Mary Miller, Elaine Miller and Lori Miller, all of Etna Green; five brothers: Chris Miller of Mishawaka, Danny Miller of Nappanee, Melvin Miller of Etna Green, Leroy Miller of Topeka, David Miller of Muldin, SC; grandmother Vera Bowyer of Logansport; his parents, Harley and Barbara Miller of Etna Green; father-in-law Maurice Cohagan of Kewanna; mother-in-law JoAnnChapman and husband David of Logansport; three sisters-in-law: Julia Burns and husband Ron of Twelve Mile, Phyllis Lahman and husband Barry of Rochester, Angel Hanson and husband Scott of Winamac; three brothers-in-law: Michael Cohagan and wife Carrie of Monroe, WI, Matthew Cohagan and wife Amy of Warsaw and Mark Kimble of Noblesville. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive, as well as his treasured canine companion Hershey, the chocolate lab and terrier mix. Pastor Aaron V. Gross will officiate services. Leon will be laid to eternal rest at the Fulton Cemetery.
